This opportunity exists to provide essential laboratory coverage during a period of staff leave. About the Role This temporary role will take responsibility for day-to-day laboratory duties, ensuring testing accuracy and smooth operation of analytical equipment. A key component of the position involves operating and troubleshooting the XRF instrument, maintaining calibration schedules, and supporting ongoing quality control processes within the production environment. Radiation safety training will be provided if needed so the XRF can continue operating during the permanent technician’s leave period. Duties and Responsibilities Manage day-to-day laboratory operations Perform routine sample preparation and quality testing Conduct XRF calibrations, checks, and troubleshooting Maintain equipment accuracy and report any anomalies Document test results and support production quality requirements Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding test outcomes Participate in radiation safety training (if not already certified) Skills and Experience Experience in a laboratory, QC, or process testing environment Exposure to XRF instrumentation preferred but not essential Understanding of sample preparation, calibrations, and routine checks Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues Willingness to undertake radiation safety training if required Benefits Immediate start with a respected industrial manufacturer Stable hours and supportive team environment Negotiable pay depending on experience Hands-on experience with specialised analytical equipment Comprehensive training provided How to apply?
