You'll be a part of our Finance team based either Sydney or Melbourne. You'll work alongside the Office of General Counsel (OGC) providing governance, risk and compliance leadership, partnering with senior stakeholders to strengthen the firm's risk framework and culture. As a Risk and Compliance Manager you will also: Identify risk and compliance issues across the firm and associated businesses, and coordinate best‑practice responses aligned to the firm’s risk framework. Review and refine the firm’s risk and compliance framework to ensure consistent guidelines for identifying risks and principles to mitigate them. Build deep knowledge of firm and industry governance structures to inform best‑practice approaches to risk identification and mitigation. Enhance tools and systems to track risk and compliance issues, perform compliance assessments, and produce metrics and analysis to support senior decision‑making. Deliver cyclical activities (audits, compliance checks and issue‑identification processes) to proactively identify and manage risks. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and act as subject matter expert to co‑create risk mitigation strategies with relevant stakeholders. Provide expert advice to risk owners and business leaders; consult to secure buy‑in and facilitate delivery of appropriate mitigation strategies. Support the implementation of policies and procedures that build a culture of risk awareness and compliance across the firm. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. About you You will have: A degree qualification in Law, Accounting or Commerce (or related discipline). Subject‑matter expertise in risk and compliance processes and protocols within complex professional services environments. Deep working knowledge of regulatory requirements and governance frameworks relevant to a commercial law firm and adjacent businesses. Experience implementing risk and compliance policies and frameworks, including facilitating mitigation strategies. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills; ability to apply project management techniques to implement change. Proactive interest in cultivating a culture of risk awareness and compliance; ability to influence diverse stakeholders through clear communication. Experience gained in finance, banking, professional services or insurance, or other environments with complex governance structures. A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.
