Mandate Support and lead our customer’s digital and engineering teams to deliver next-generation platform capabilities. Success will come from your ability to architect scalable, secure and resilient systems, define API and event-driven standards, establish cloud-native patterns, and guide platform teams through best-practice engineering decisions. Requirements Architect scalable distributed systems using microservices and domain-driven design Define API-first strategies, API governance, lifecycle standards and developer-first documentation Lead event-driven architecture initiatives, including event modelling, messaging topologies and asynchronous integrations Partner with engineering teams to create reference architectures, reusable patterns and forward-looking technical roadmaps Drive cloud-native practices: Kubernetes, containers, serverless and modern DevOps workflows Establish and enforce non-functional requirements across security, performance, observability and resilience Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend tools, frameworks and platforms aligned to strategic goals Collaborate with product and business leaders to ensure technical direction aligns with organisational objectives Technology / Tooling Microservices architecture & DDD API-first design (REST, GraphQL), API gateways & API management platforms Event-driven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ) Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP Kubernetes, serverless, containerisation CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), DevOps automation Security best-practice: OAuth, JWT, zero-trust, secrets management About YOU Ideally, you’ll have 15 years in software engineering and architecture, with strong experience in modern digital platforms, microservices, event-driven systems and cloud-native engineering. You’ll be passionate about simplifying complex problems, influencing engineering direction, and designing digital systems built for scale, performance and resilience.
