We’re looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who thrives on the floor, leads with purpose, and sets the standard for service excellence. Reporting to the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering seamless guest experiences, developing high-performing teams, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a high-volume, premium venue. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong floor presence, including nights and weekends, to ensure visible leadership during peak trade. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee large-scale service periods, managing shifts with 80 team members in a high-volume environment. Manage the floor with a strong focus on service quality, product execution, and overall venue atmosphere. Ensure full compliance with all liquor licensing, RSA, and regulatory requirements at all times. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to develop a high-performing team. Confidently manage guest recovery, issue resolution, and conflict situations, ensuring positive outcomes. Maintain exceptional venue cleanliness, presentation, and operational standards, aligned with a world-class hospitality experience. Work collaboratively with other Howard Smith Wharves venues and central departments to achieve shared goals and best-practice outcomes. Demonstrate and maintain a high level of knowledge across all food and beverage offerings, ensuring accuracy and consistency in service delivery. Champion and embed a guest-focused culture, leading by example in all aspects of daily operations. What we are looking for: Previous experience in managing and coaching teams RSA essential, RMLV desired A background working in high volume hospitality environments.
