This position, supported by the HR & Governance team enables managers and employees to understand relevant HR processes and responsibilities, fostering a culture of ‘HR self-sufficiency’ and best practice. This position also responsible for recruitment, and providing HR support and training to managers on HR best practice. We are currently in the process of doing a review of our existing databases, policies and procedures. The successful person will have involvement in this implementation process so previous experience with system implementation would be beneficial. Current database is ELMO supporting human resources processes and My Pay RTA supporting payroll processes, experience in this area would be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Include End-to-end of HR Lifecycle Completion of high-level HR activities Onboarding and offboarding tasks in the HR system Accurately interpreting and applying Fair Work Award rules, experience with SCHADS Award essential. Reporting of HR statistics and trends Oversee the administration of HRIS Ensure staff remain compliant with qualifications, licences, blue card, yellow card, criminal checks etc Liaise with Managers and staff regarding HR queries Communicate with external parties such as recruitment agencies when required Collaborate with Payroll/Finance team Be able to write, update and review work instructions, policies and procedures applicable to HR practices. Desired Skills and Experience The Position Requires Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree with at least two year’s subsequent experience. Experience in the interpretation and application of HR and Payroll legislation and frameworks, such as industrial awards and Fair Work legislation. Demonstrated experience as a human resources officer supporting quality work across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, cultural and engagements activities, legal compliance and beyond. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to enable engagement with a geographically and culturally diverse workforce and stakeholders. Demonstrated digital literacy with proven experience working with HR/Payroll systems, reporting systems / report designing, and expertise in the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Ability to operate methodically with a high attention to detail in the completion of tasks with competing deadlines. Ensure compliance with financial accounting requirements, Centacare NQ policies, industrial awards and employment contracts. Maintain the organisation’s probity checks (Working with Children Blue Card, NDIS Worker etc.), pre-employment screenings and safeguarding databases, and support employees with applications and renewals. Current, and ability to retain, both a Working with Children Blue Card check and Disability Worker Screening/Clearance/Card. Active participation in committees/groups Current open driver licence. Desirable Experience in a similar position or environment requiring understanding or application of the SCHADS Award. AHRI Professional Membership.
