Position Purpose: The Engineer is required to coordinate the technical delivery across the relevant projects and coordinate the inputs from stakeholders and external consultants. They are responsible for ensuring the development of key technical deliverables relevant to their discipline and provide input into budget and schedule development. The Position: The role will predominantly be involved in an underground substation re-build project, including: 11kV switchboard procurement and replacement 415V MCC procurement and replacement ( auxiliaries) 11/.415kV Transformer procurement and replacement Contract Duration: We're looking for someone who can commit to a minimum 6-month contract to see this project through, with the option to extend and shift onto new projects. Relevant Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in a similar role, including at least one FIFO-based role. Minimum 10 years experience working in a regulated project engineering and /or project management environment. Minimum 10 years experience managing brownfield projects concurrently. Have a background in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry. Commercial acumen and the ability to manage a budget and interact across business functions. Competent in MS Office Suite, Pronto and scheduling software (eg MS Project) Have a thorough understanding of the Electrical Safety Act, MQSHR, Australian standards, and commitment to compliance with site specifications and procedures. Hands on experience with HV/LV systems, substations and distribution networks. Experience using AVEVA Historian, Allen Bradley PLC, SKM Power Tools. Ensure the technical safety of the design and compliance with the relevant company HSE requirements and are documented and understood by all those working on the project, including contractors alongside the Project Lead and Construction Lead. Ensure the project complies with all corporate, Project Management Framework, Legislative requirements and Site HSE procedures. Project Planning and Scope Definition: Support the development of project plans into detailed and correctly sequenced tasks. Responsible for clearly defining project deliverables and developing engineering scopes of work in line with the projects goals and objectives. Responsible for ensuring technical detail & quality requirements in construction scopes of work meet the project execution goals & objectives. Input into the development of comprehensive timelines and resource allocation to support the delivery. Monitor progress, identify and address deviations, and implement agreed corrective actions. Coordination of the engineering activities to support the design process. Support RFQ Scopes of work for tendering, bid evaluations, awarding Purchase orders. Technical Expertise: Utilize a strong understanding of engineering principles and relevant technologies. Review and validate technical specifications and drawing from design consultants. Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot complex engineering problems. Develop and maintain project TQ and RFI registers. Collect and validate relevant site data, documentation and drawings to respond to vendor TQs and RFIs. Communication and Collaboration: Foster open and effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and EHO personnel. Facilitate collaborative problem-solving and decision-making processes. Translate technical information into clear and concise reports for various audiences. Quality Control and Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards. Oversee material procurement and construction quality to guarantee optimal outcomes. Support on-site verification of contractor works. Cost Management: Input into the development and monitor project budgets, analysing expenditures and identifying potential cost savings for specific engagements. Identify and Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or performance. Input into accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders. Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for project scopes & quality. Monitor and assess risks continuously, adapting solutions as needed. Minimize the impact of unforeseen challenges on project schedule and budget. Formal Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Required). Recognised qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience (Preferred). Personal Competencies: Strong technical / communications skills. Sound negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external customers. Strong analytical skills and ability to form effective project strategies. Comfortable working across both surface and underground environments.
