APS6 Project Officer (First Nations Relationships) 6-month contract, with a possible 6 month extension Role involves interstate travel Drivers licence and police check required About this role: Our client is seeking an individual with high interpersonal skills and strong experience engaging with First Nation Communities. This role is heavily focused on being the key contact for First Nations Peoples to build Basin capacity within community and connect with other stakeholders. Strong cultural competency, respect for First Nations protocols, and the ability to engage confidently and appropriately with First Nations stakeholders are essential. Key responsibilities and capabilities: Support First Nations engagement activities, including on-Country visits and Basin-wide tours. Assist communities in preparing submissions for the Basin Plan Review. Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations peak bodies, Elders groups, and other stakeholders. Facilitate opportunities for face-to-face engagement and strengthen cultural protocols and processes. Contribute to projects and programs that enhance Basin capacity and community connections.
