As a Diversional Therapist at WHS Rescue, you will be responsible for planning and delivering recreational and therapeutic programs to support the wellbeing of clients. This position requires compassion, creativity, and a client-focused approach. Responsibilities and Tasks: Plan, design, and implement individual and group therapy programs focused on physical, social, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing. Assess clients' needs and interests to tailor activities that enhance quality of life and foster engagement. Collaborate with allied health professionals and family members to support holistic care plans. Document and evaluate client progress and make adjustments to therapy plans accordingly. Organise community outings, cultural activities, and events that encourage social participation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of diversional therapy practices and relevant health regulations. Support clients recovering from injury or managing chronic conditions with suitable leisure and lifestyle activities. Provide training and guidance to assistants and volunteers involved in therapy activities. Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification. Minimum 1 year experience as a Diversional Therapist Strong emotional intelligence and professional judgement in sensitive settings Confident facilitation and communication skills with adult professionals Ability to handle resistance and adapt to diverse stakeholders Proven reliability, attention to detail, and adherence to structured program frameworks Experience in psychosocial risk, WHS, education, or organisational wellbeing Competent with templates, reporting tools, and session documentation Professionalism in upholding boundaries, confidentiality, and program consistency Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $90,000 - $100,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
