See more at our website: http://www.atsichsbrisbane.org.au Job Description About the Role The Community Support Team Member – Yard Maintenance is responsible for delivering person-centred support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Elders, and other community members requiring assistance with outdoor maintenance. This role focuses on mowing and yard care services , ensuring clients’ homes remain safe and well-maintained while promoting independence and cultural safety. Key tasks include lawn mowing, whipper snipping, blowing debris, and light garden maintenance , alongside occasional domestic assistance and wellbeing checks. The role works across programs such as QCSS, CHSP, and other community supports. Duties Perform yard maintenance tasks , including: Lawn mowing. Whipper snipping. Blowing debris from paths and driveways. Light garden maintenance (weeding, tidying). Provide tailored support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to enhance independence and quality of life. Implement individual support plans and report on progress. Conduct scheduled wellbeing checks for Elders. Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, including infection control procedures. Desired Skills and Experience Required Experience in yard maintenance or similar outdoor work. Understanding of person-centred and culturally safe practices. Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Desirable Qualification in Community Services or related field. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of NDIS and aged care sector regulations. Additional Requirements National Police Certificate. Current Working with Children Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply. NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card) or eligibility to apply. Driver’s Licence. Evidence of Work Rights. Travel between work sites regularly. Flexibility in working hours.
