About The Role Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond. The SLHD Gardens and Grounds leading hand is responsible for managing day to day operations of the SLHD grounds and gardens team. The position works closely with the Gardens and Grounds Manager to implement maintenance of plans and projects as required. The position is based at Concord Hospital but is required to work across all sites of SLHD. For more information, please view the Position Description. Ideal Candidate Certificate III Horticulture or relevant discipline, or equivalent qualification or experience. Experience in large ground's area maintenance with a good knowledge of mechanical gardening equipment, such as ride-on mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws etc. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and ability to effectively apply principles to gardening and grounds duties. Experience leading and supervising staff and fostering a positive team environment. Ability to work over time when required. Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable). Benefits and Perks!
