Your role SJG Murdoch Hospital are now seeking dedicated and motivated Enrolled and Registered Nurses with to join our Acute Medical and Gerontology team on our St Joseph’s 30 bed Ward. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse Position Function within legal and registration constraints in relation to enrolled nursing practice. Maintain and develops clinical skills in order to deliver patient care appropriate to level of competence. Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively. Adhere to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards. Act as the patient’s advocate and protects the rights of individuals. Provide patient education and participates in discharge planning, where applicable or as required. Participate in quality improvement activities. Demonstrate a courteous manner to internal and external customers. The Registered Nurse Position Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required. Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and precepting staff. Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives. You will hold registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse. You will demonstrate commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Minimum 2 years previous Acute Medical and Gerontology experience within a hospital environment is preferred and postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded.
