Your opportunity Welding Supervisor M2P Engineering Brisbane, Queensland > Salisbury Full Time As our Welding Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient operation of our Salisbury workshop. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all welding activities meet the highest quality, safety, and compliance standards, while supporting M2P’s ability to consistently deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients. We’re seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor with a strong supervisory background who can confidently mentor tradespersons and apprentices, lead by example on the workshop floor, and actively drive the implementation of new systems, processes, and strategies as our workshop and capabilities continue to grow. This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be on the workshop floor, actively guiding your team while maintaining oversight of quality, compliance, and safety standards. Your contributions will directly impact the workshop’s efficiency, the team’s capability, and M2P’s reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions. We’re looking for someone with a proven history in welding supervision, who can confidently manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, proactively solve problems, and build strong, collaborative relationships across the business. In this role, you’ll: ● Conduct welder qualifications on plate and pipe, generate welder qualification certificates, and maintain the welder qualification register ● Develop and maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and associated registers ● Conduct weld joint fit-up inspections and provide expert guidance on best practices ● Allocate correct WPS to suit job requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications ● Lead and mentor tradespersons and apprentices, fostering skill development and a high-performing team culture ● Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of new strategies, procedures, and initiatives ● Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and successful project delivery ● Maintain accurate documentation and records using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam You’ll make an impact by: ● Conducting Welder Qualifications on plate and pipe, Generate Welder Qualification Certificates and maintaining Welder Qualification register. ● Developing New Weld Procedure Specifications and maintaining the Weld Procedure Specification Register. ● Conducting weld joint fit up inspections and advising personnel on best practices. ● Allocating correct Weld Procedure Specifications to suit job requirements What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: ● Qualification - AS2214 Certificate 10 ● Qualification - AS1796 Certificate 10 ● A good working knowledge of AS/NZS1554.1-6 ● A good working knowledge of AS3992 ● Understanding of ISO9606.1, AS5131,AS3834 ● Experience with GMAW,FCAW,GTAW and SAW processes on Structural and Piping ● Strong leadership capability, with a proven history in welding supervision and the ability to mentor tradespersons and apprentices ● Well-developed computer skills, including confidence in creating documentation and maintaining registers using Microsoft Word, Excel and Bluebeam. ● A proactive mindset, with experience implementing improvements, new processes or strategies within a workshop or project environment Ideally, you will also have: ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail ● The ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment ● A proactive, hands-on approach, with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team mindset Why M2P Engineering?
