Public Housing Safety Officers provide community safety patrol, response and investigative services for the department. They play a pivotal role by operating as part of a wider multi-agency initiative to address and mitigate antisocial behaviour in the Northern Territory and are crucial element of the departmentâs community engagement activities. Public Housing Safety Officers receive dedicated training, unique identifiable uniforms and specialist equipment to enable them to operate in small, dedicated teams while, conducting vehicle and foot patrols at public housing properties and complexes, undertaking investigations into alleged instances of disruptive and antisocial behaviour in and around public housing premises and compliance activities.
