About The Role PolyNovo is seeking an IT Manager to join our IT and Operations team. Reporting directly to the Chief Manufacturing and Supply Chain Officer, this role will oversee PolyNovo’s IT operations and serve as a strategic, innovative partner to the Board, CEO, and Executive team. The IT Manager will be responsible for delivering a secure, resilient, and forward-thinking technology environment that supports organisational growth and aligns with PolyNovo’s growth strategy. Key Responsibilities Organisation Leadership Lead, manage and develop a small, multi-faceted IT team and Managed Service Partner to provide efficient technical and project-related service across the organisation: Build relationships with the team and contribute to their ongoing development. Manage performance, contributing to each team member’s success while encouraging them to manage their career progression goals. A focus on safety and ensuring the well-being of team members, peers and partners. Ensure smooth daily operations and cater for absence or churn via cross-training within the team. Ensure the team has the capability and capacity to respond to, investigate & resolve IT issues on a day-to-day basis. Encourage suggestions for the use of technology to enhance business performance and peer involvement in delivery. Obtain buy in from senior management to ensure ongoing support for projects. Be a key driver in terms of innovation, whether technology or business led, by: Maintaining up-to-date awareness and understanding of new technologies, embracing and advancing the consideration of these in the organisation with a progressive and strategic mindset, particularly regarding automation, process improvement and AI Working collaboratively as a subject-matter expert with peers to understand how technology can be applied in PolyNovo in an agile, cost-effective and productive manner. Promote strong governance and provide transparency of IT activities to build trust and collaboration: Develop a IT Governance Committee and act as a key member, providing updates at each meeting on status and new initiatives. Architecture & Architecture Maintenance Create and maintain key policies and document processes, ensuring that governance is practical and current. Responsible for ensuring that an Enterprise Architecture landscape and roadmap is in place and kept current to guide strategic technology investments. Responsible and accountable for support and efficient evolution of PolyNovo’s Technology architecture: Hybrid Infrastructure (On premise, Cloud, PaaS) Applications (On premise, SaaS) Maintain a cyber focus to ensure that PolyNovo’s cyber security strategy to kept current and that people, data and assets are always protected. Ensure continuity of business operations through diligent management of PolyNovo’s infrastructure and applications: Patching all environments as required. Ensuring fit-for-purpose continuity is implemented and tested. Maintaining a current and regularly tested Disaster Recovery (DR) plan. Collaborating with peers in building and sustaining a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Project Leadership Support and where necessary facilitate project requirements articulation, scoping, designing and planning with operational/functional business leaders Manage an array of projects that align to an agreed project management framework from initiation through planning, execution (design, build, test, implement, hypercare, support transition), closure and benefits realisation: Work collaboratively with project stakeholders and partner with their teams to achieve successful outcomes. Accountable for the project commercials and budgets for all initiatives Vendor/Stakeholder Management Conduct structured procurement processes to renew or select vendors for key services and/ or products. Build and maintain strong partnerships with key vendors on whom PolyNovo relies: Build a formal vendor management framework that provides transparent insight into services, service level agreements (SLA) and performance. Build a contract register and renewal calendar for structured management of PolyNovo’s technology vendor portfolio. Experience Minimum 5 years of IT Management experience, leading an entire IT function for a same or similar business. Manufacturing and sales experience preferred but other industries will be considered. Demonstrable experience in management of the total environment of a same/ similar business – all hardware software and End User Computing along with cyber, networks etc – this is a critical requirement. Team leadership and track record of building and maintaining capabilities in a high functioning but small team. Budgeting experience, both capex and opex, actuals versus budget and variance analysis: Must have experience in managing and explaining transition from capex to opex as PaaS and SaaS evolves. Drives efficiency. Where applicable identify areas for cost savings both immediate and ongoing. Experience in medical technologies is highly desirable: Engagement with and support of R&D and manufacturing in a highly regulated environment. Supporting and enabling a global sales organisation with “always on” sales tech and streamlined, global CRM capabilities. Global supply chain experience is highly desirable Project Delivery Experience : At least 5 years’ experience of complex technology project delivery. Provide a clear direction to the project team on objectives and key success criteria Demonstratable experience leading project planning/scheduling/budgeting with proven ability to re-forecast at any given point on a project Effectively plan and delivery projects/initiatives in line with scope, cost, benefit, quality and timeline expectations to agreed framework Ability to identify change, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and proactively manage to ensure approved project plans are protected Experience with various delivery methodologies e.g. Agile, Waterfall etc Proven experience in leading project delivery teams that have successfully delivered major change and solutions into production/implementation Strong Vendor Management skills Project Management certifications like PMI PMP, PMI ACP, Dip of PM or Scrum Master Experience with project management software Business Strategy Experience : Ability to grasp strategic concepts and deal with ambiguous future requirements Demonstrable experience of having built a technology strategy to support and enable an overall business strategy. Experience of working with a leadership team to define business strategy. ERP Experience: working with a well-established ERP environment, Acumatica experience would be a bonus: Experience with enterprise data warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics, with a focus on democratising analytics leveraging an enterprise data platform with associated data governance. Other ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft) welcomed. Any experience of ERP transformation would be attractive. Cyber Experience : Demonstrable experience in building and sustaining a cyber capability that is fit-for-purpose and effective in protecting people, data and assets and maintaining business continuity. AI Experience : An understanding of the potential that AI presents to our business. Experience with prototyping and developing AI-based capabilities is welcomed.
