Annual salary range: Commensurate with experience Employment type: Permanent - Full-Time Usual work location: QV 180 Lonsdale Street CBD/ Work from home About the opportunity Reporting to the Manager Concession Deed, the Senior Contracts Advisor plays a pivotal role in advising on and managing the complex and long-term joint venture partnership between VicRoads and the State Government. This is a unique opportunity to work within a strategic, high-impact environment, applying your legal and commercial expertise to provide expert guidance on the 40-year Concession Deeds. As part of the Concession Deed Management team, you’ll support internal and external stakeholders by providing authoritative advice on contractual obligations, ensuring compliance, and facilitating positive, solution-focused outcomes. This role offers the chance to contribute to major infrastructure governance while fostering strong relationships with the Department of Transport and Planning. You will work across teams, collaborate on governance initiatives, and support continuous improvement of contract management resources and processes. This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented and strategically minded contracts professional ready to shape long-term outcomes for Victoria’s transport future. It is best suited to someone with experience in commercial service-delivery contracts or public-private partnerships; the role does not involve procurement activities or construction-focused contract management. About you We’re looking for a legal or contracts professional with strong commercial acumen and at least 4 years of relevant experience to: Provide expert advice on Concession Deed contractual obligations to support business understanding and compliance. Identify and manage contractual risks while pursuing opportunities for improved outcomes. Negotiate and influence stakeholders to resolve disputes and achieve strategic goals. Collaborate effectively with internal teams to align with governance and operational best practices. Develop user-friendly resources to educate and empower the business in Concession Deed-related matters. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contract management efficiency. Uphold privacy, data security, and integrity standards while supporting fraud and corruption prevention efforts. Experience as a practising lawyer (commercial/contracts focus) is highly desirable but not essential. Candidates with equivalent experience in commercial contract advisory or management, or relevant transferable skills will also be considered.
