Job Description Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to management and senior executives on legal aspects of their areas of responsibility, supporting the ongoing success of the organisation. Use legal expertise to drive growth and manage risk through timely, accurate and practical legal advice that enables informed decision making. Support the design, development and governance of AI-enabled tools, models and processes, including advising on legal, regulatory, contractual, privacy and ethical requirements. Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, technology and service arrangements. Provide independent legal advice on a range of matters, including: National Consumer Credit Protection Act Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act Real estate licensing obligations Australian Competition and Consumer Law General corporate and banking law Franchising law and the Franchising Code of Conduct Employment law Intellectual property law Partner with business units to support new projects, incidents, business initiatives, acquisitions, regulatory change and improvements to systems and products. Assist in managing and strengthening relationships with key regulators, government agencies and industry bodies, including ACCC, ASIC, AFCA and MFAA. Contribute to the development, improvement and documentation of the legal function’s processes, templates and tools to maximise efficiency and business support. Provide legal support and guidance in relation to customer complaints, including complex or escalated matters. Support adherence to company policies, risk appetite and all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including the NCCP regime. Promote and ensure appropriate management of customer information in line with privacy, confidentiality and other regulatory requirements. Manage and instruct external counsel, including scope and budget, with a focus on reducing external legal spend and improving service levels and quality of advice.
