Role details The Women's Health Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Facilitator (Midwifery) to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The Clinical Facilitator Midwife is an advanced level clinician who is responsible for supporting nursing/ midwifery workforce development and growth, providing leadership, clinical and education direction, and support to other nursing/midwifery staff, students and the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of evidence based and best practice services. This role will support an appropriately skilled workforce to deliver evidence-based person-centred care and service planning. As the Clinical Facilitator Midwife, you will demonstrate advanced level of clinical expertise and/or skill set in the provisions of midwifery care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care. About the Team Women's Health Unit is a Level 4 Maternity and neonatal service, which provides maternity care for low- and moderate-risk women. The service is multidisciplinary and offers several maternity models of care, including providing or referring to midwifery community care. There are 4 models of midwifery care in Women's Health Unit, An all risk Core obstetric model and 3 Midwifery Group Practice models of care - Birth Centre (low risk model of care), Maternally Yours (low risk Post-Graduate model of care) and Kem Kem Yanga (all risk Indigenous model of care). Women's Health Unit also consists of Antenatal Diabetes Clinics, Special Care Nursery, Gynaecological services, Family Planning clinic and Extended Midwifery services.
