What you'll do Undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a single or multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards Provide input in the development of scientific practices, procedures, protocols within the diagnostic and research work areas, where relevant. Apply high level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties within the work unit with minimal clinical practice supervision out of hours - Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, Clinical Specimen Reception. About you We are searching for someone with: Demonstrated knowledge and skills in performing analytical and technical aspects of common analysis including delivery of scientific judgement in a multi discipline medium sized pathology laboratory. The ability to work accurately and effectively in a multidisciplinary laboratory team with minimal/no supervision, including: A demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise workloads according to clinical requirements. A demonstrated ability to apply independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate. A demonstrated ability to work independently towards logical solution of scientific and technical problems. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate accurately and concisely in either written or oral forms with medical and non-medical staff. Demonstrated ability (or ability to acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ ISO accreditation / certification.
