About the position: The Leading Hand Concrete Maintenance undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of footpath and kerb maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton. This position will work under general direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints, as well as are in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards. The Leading Hand Concrete Maintenance provides daily guidance and supervision to direct reports as required by the Line Manager. This position works a 9-day fortnight with every second Friday as a non-working day. Key accountabilities: Repair, maintenance and construction of the City’s network of footpaths using techniques including concrete formwork, finishing and brick paving. Perform routine manual labour duties, including but not limited to shovelling, cutting and picking of concrete and paving works. Provide initiative and guidance to direct reports in daily activities, including coordinating all materials and equipment for use by the team(s) depending on operational requirements. Position requirements: The ideal applicant will have experience in concrete maintenance, with ability to lead a small team and preferably hold an MR class driver’s license. Strong communication skills and proficiency with an iPad are also highly regarded. Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City. Remuneration and benefits: A salary ranging from $82,422 per annum to $86,882 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
