View a full position description on Council website Yass Valley Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Tourism Officer to support the promotion and development of tourism within our region. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in tourism, events, or local government. About the Role In this position will gain knowledge and develop skills relating to the processes and responsibilities associated with the tourism industry including marketing, customer service and the economic benefit to the business community in conjunction with an appropriate study program. Key Responsibilities Assist with promoting local tourism attractions and experiences Support the planning and delivery of tourism and community events Help manage visitor information services and enquiries Assist with social media, website updates, and promotional materials Collect tourism data and support reporting activities Provide friendly customer service to visitors and stakeholders About You Interest in tourism, events, marketing, or community development Good communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and work as part of a team Basic computer skills (email, Word, social media) Knowledge of the local area is an advantage, but not essential What We Offer On-the-job training and mentoring Opportunity to gain experience in local government Supportive team environment explain complex concepts.
