The Opportunity As a full-time, permanent Finance Business Partner , based from our Brisbane CBD head office, you’ll support our progressive and authentic firm as we champion what’s right. Reporting to the General Manager of Performance and Reporting across Shine’s Personal Injury, you’ll be responsible for partnering with business leaders on the planning, budgeting and reporting on financial performance. You’ll play a key role in the management accounting team in the coordination of the budgeting process, and various other internal accounting initiatives, including preparing and analysing various management reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, making commercial recommendations to legal and senior leaders. This role is ideal for a self-starter who wants the credibility of an established ASX-listed firm where your personal impact is felt across our legal practice manager and general manager groups. Here’s how you’ll help us stay ahead of the pack by: Producing financial reports on individual department performance including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, and monthly management accounts, while assisting the management accounting team with the annual budget. Providing regular reports, recommendations, and interpretations to senior stakeholders including CFO on financial and operating data, and variances to the budget. Delivering accurate, insightful monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts, and commercial recommendations to support senior leadership decision-making. Driving process improvements and lead finance initiatives, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and a seamless partnership with Financial Accounting team. Acting as a trusted advisor to legal managers and business leaders, offering commercial insights, financial guidance, and contributing to continuous improvement. Managing complex financial matters and high-level escalations, while playing a key role in audit preparation, WIP provision modelling, and data analysis opportunities. Coaching business leaders, championing the firm’s values and helping shape a high-performance, client-focused finance culture. What you’ll bring To thrive in this role, you will: Finance degree or related field. CA or CPA qualified. 5 years of experience in management accounting function or equivalent industry specific experience. Exposure to working within an ASX-listed environment, a large multinational subsidiary, or other complex business is highly advantageous, but not essential for success. Exposure to working in a professional services firm is desirable. Experience in legal management systems highly desired. Strong understanding of modern management information systems. Ability to analyse and communicate financial information. Demonstrated strong commercial acumen skills. Demonstrated skills in forecasting. Strong stakeholder management skills.
