This is a fantastic job opportunity based in Adelaide, for the successful incumbent who can blend independence with teamwork. You will be instrumental in ensuring transparent, respectful, and coordinated communication between project teams and communities. The Role: As an Engagement Consultant, you will be the engine room for community and stakeholder activities across a diverse portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects. You will manage daily coordination, prepare essential communications, and maintain accurate records, all while working closely with and escalating complex issues to the Senior Engagement Consultants (SEC). This role offers autonomy in managing your day-to-day work, combined with the assurance of mentorship and strategic guidance from senior leaders. You will work across Adelaide metro, the Adelaide Hills, and r egional South Australia, with occasional travel required for regional engagements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Engagement Delivery & Coordination Deliver engagement activities—including workshops, information sessions, and pop-ups—under the guidance of Senior Engagement Consultants. Assist in the development of communication tools such as newsletters, updates, notices, and briefing materials. Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions and prepare engagement summaries and reports for project teams. 2. Stakeholder Interaction & Support Act as a direct point of contact for community members, councils, landowners, and other key stakeholders. Record and manage stakeholder concerns, escalating sensitive or complex issues promptly to SECs. Support the analysis of stakeholder feedback and integrate these valuable insights into project reporting. 3. Project & Professional Support Provide administrative and operational support to project managers and senior consultants, ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain the professional reputation of Cunningham Partners and its clients through timely, respectful, and accurate communication. Skills & Experience: We are seeking a proactive and professional candidate who can hit the ground running. Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, community development, project management, or equivalent experience. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high degree of accuracy. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently, while knowing when to seek strategic guidance. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Experience supporting project teams or working in a fast-paced professional environment. Current driver’s licence. Desirable Criteria: IAP2 certification or training is highly valued. Construction Industry White Card. Experience in infrastructure, government, or community-focused projects, particularly with exposure to sensitive stakeholder environments. Australian Citizenship (required for Defence-based projects).
