See yourself in the team Everyday Business Banking (EBB) supports Australian businesses of all sizes by delivering trusted, innovative and customer-focused banking solutions. Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager (EGM), EBB, the Executive Advisor plays a critical role in enabling strong business performance, strategic alignment, and operational excellence across the EBB portfolio. This role provides strategic advisory support, drives effectiveness of business management practices, strengthens governance, and uplifts the operating rhythm of the EBB Leadership Team. Acting as a trusted partner to the EGM, you will help ensure the business delivers on customer, people and shareholder outcomes, while representing the EGM where appropriate and ensuring leadership alignment on key priorities. You will lead and support activities, which ensure continued performance of the business, maintaining effective relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels of the EBB business and the Business Bank. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Strategic advisory and leadership support Providing high-quality strategic insights, analysis and recommendations to support decision-making by the EGM and Leadership Team. Synthesising complex information into clear, concise narratives, briefing packs, strategy papers and CEO/Board-level materials. Acting as a thought partner to the EGM on strategic priorities, business performance and operational matters. Representing the EGM in meetings, forums and decision-shaping conversations where appropriate. Business management, governance and operating rhythm Designing, executing and continually uplifting the EBB operating rhythm, ensuring alignment to Group standards (e.g. Pace) and best practice disciplines. Overseeing preparation and continuous improvement of Leadership Team meetings, strategic forums and governance committees. Leading the development of structured agendas, pre-reads, and decision-ready materials to optimise meeting effectiveness. Supporting governance requirements including approvals, regulatory sign-offs, risk documentation and business performance reporting. Execution quality, communication and alignment Producing high-quality written materials, including strategy papers, presentations, speaking notes and communication artefacts. Ensuring consistent messaging, positioning and strategic alignment across EBB, strengthening a “One EBB” culture. Supporting the EGM in preparing for internal and external engagements, senior forums and enterprise commitments. Operational excellence and continuous improvement Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and clarity across business processes, governance workflows and BAU disciplines. Driving uplift in the quality, predictability and timeliness of business operations and leadership execution. Partnering with senior leaders to embed strong risk management, compliance practices and operational discipline. We’re interested in hearing from people who are/have: Strong experience in Financial Services, ideally in business banking, strategy, chief-of-staff, business management or advisory roles. Inquisitive in nature and both motivated and driven. Demonstrated ability to structure complex information into clear insights and executive-ready narratives. Proven capability in designing and uplifting operating rhythms, governance forums, and business management practices. Exceptional written communication skills, including preparation of CEO/Board-level materials. Strong commercial and strategic judgement, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. High levels of EQ, professionalism and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive information. A track record of delivering under pressure, navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities. Strong risk and compliance literacy, with sound understanding of regulatory obligations. Comfortable with navigating ambiguity and ability to work flexibly through change. A collaborative mindset and ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
