Part time 6-month fixed term opportunity possibility (possibility of extension subject to funding) for a detail orientated Post Doctoral Researcher contributing to impactful research in neurology Base Salary $156,103 pro rata 17% Superannuation About the opportunity Join the Faculty of Medicine and Health as a Senior MS Post-Doctoral Researcher, contributing to impactful research in Neurology . Working with the MS research group, led by Professor Michael Barnett, you will be the clinical lead for the MSBase Imaging Repository (MSBIR) project; and provide neurological expertise for clinical-imaging research being undertaken within the MS Clinical Trials unit at the Brain and Mind Centre, including as an co-investigator on Phase 2-4 trials. MSBIR is a collaboration between the University of Sydney and MSBase, the largest international registry of MS patients; and the role will require collaboration with a broad team of clinicians, allied health staff, imaging scientists, AI engineers and industry partners. Your key responsibilities will be to: liaise closely with the group lead, Professor Michael Barnett. be part of and work with the MSBIR leadership group at the Brain and Mind Centre. oversee and manage the successful operations and development of the MSBIR. perform the role of the clinical site liaison for MSBIR. co-lead the MS clinical trials unit, including as site Primary Investigator for some studies. contribute to investigator-led clinical and imaging research. supervise and mentor post-graduate and junior post-doctoral clinical researchers. participate in faculty meetings and contribute to governance. About you must have medical degree (MBBS, MD) must be a neurologist with FRACP (or equivalent) must have a PhD or equivalent in the relevant field must have clinical and research expertise in MS or Neuroimmunology must have knowledge and preferably experience in imaging/imaging repository research must have significant experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity must have a reputation at a national level as influential in expanding knowledge within the discipline must have experience as a clinical trial investigator must have broad experience managing cross-disciplinary projects must have experience in leading successful competitive research grants and/or generating other research income by exploring diverse funding opportunities must have experience supervising and mentoring others.
