We are partnering with a large Queensland Government department to recruit an AO5 Project Engagement Officer to support the Northern District Customer and Stakeholder Engagement team, based in Townsville . Due to a significant increase in workload driven by major infrastructure projects, additional capacity is required to support effective delivery. These projects are critical to the success of the program and demand a high level of stakeholder engagement, proactive communications planning, and the timely production of high-quality engagement materials. The contracted Project Engagement Officer will play a key role in supporting the team by: Relieving pressure on the existing team, allowing them to focus on strategic priorities Ensuring clear, timely, and accurate communication with stakeholders Maintaining consistency and quality across all project communications This role will provide essential support to engage with a large and geographically dispersed stakeholder group, including local residents, local governments, and businesses. Requirements TOWNSVILLE BASED OR WILLING TO RELOCATE Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality materials Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including community, government, or business groups Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment Well-developed organisational skills and attention to detail Experience in government or infrastructure projects will be highly regarded The initial contract will be for two years , with the option to extend for a further 12 months , subject to satisfactory performance.
