Technical Pre-Sales Consultant Location: Brisbane / South-East Queensland (hybrid - 2 days in office) The Opportunity An established B2B technology and analytics business is looking for a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to join its commercial team. This role sits at the intersection of problem-solving, analytics, and customer engagement. You'll work closely with prospective customers to understand complex operational challenges, translate them into structured business problems, and clearly articulate how advanced optimisation and analytics solutions can drive meaningful outcomes. This is not a traditional sales role. Prior sales experience isn't essential - what matters is your ability to think logically, communicate clearly, and collaborate with technical and commercial teams to shape high-value solutions. What You'll Be Doing Engage with prospective customers to understand and frame operational challenges across industries such as health, aged care, aviation, maritime, manufacturing, and supply chain Work with technical and operational stakeholders to break down complex problems into decision points, variables, constraints, and objectives Identify where optimisation and analytics can deliver tangible business value Own the technical pre-sales process, working closely with commercial and delivery teams Support proposal development, pricing, and contracting Contribute to broader commercial activities as needed, including: Inbound lead management and targeted outreach Industry events and relationship-building Development of sales, marketing, and pre-sales materials Providing structured market insights to inform product and go-to-market strategy Maintaining accurate CRM records and pipeline information About You 2-5 years' experience in engineering, applied mathematics, data science, or a technical problem-solving / consulting role Strong analytical mindset with the ability to deconstruct complex systems Interest in moving into, or further developing, a customer-facing commercial role Confident communicator who can engage both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders Curious, commercially minded, and motivated to learn B2B technology sales Comfortable working with ambiguity and longer, consultative sales cycles Collaborative, team-oriented, and keen to work across disciplines Why Consider This Role A rare opportunity to move into technical pre-sales without needing a sales background Exposure to complex, high-impact problems across multiple industries A hybrid working model with flexibility on location Clear development pathway into senior commercial or solution-focused roles
