This is an exceptional opportunity for a cyber / data privacy specialist to deepen your expertise in one of the fastest-growing areas of legal practice. You'll work on cyber incident response, data breach notifications, and data privacy compliance matters for major insurers and corporates, with significant international exposure through Kennedys' APAC cyber risk group. Nicholas leads Kennedys' APAC cyber risk group and specialises in data privacy and cyber insurance law. He has considerable experience responding to cyber incidents and data breaches, including regulatory notifications, and helped develop Kennedys' cyber incident response service. The practice handles sophisticated international incidents, coordinating with cyber teams across Kennedys' global offices. This role offers genuine focus on cyber-specific work - not just tangential cyber exposure - with the opportunity to work on real incident response matters from day one. As this is a strategically important and high-growth practice area, you'll have excellent career development opportunities in an emerging and in-demand legal specialty. You'll also have exposure to general commercial and technology matters as the practice continues to grow. What You'll Do Respond to cyber incidents and data breaches for insurers and corporates Advise on regulatory notification obligations and coordinate responses to regulators Conduct data privacy compliance audits and provide ongoing compliance advice Assist with corporate and commercial transactions, technology procurement, and insurance matters Work with Kennedys' international cyber teams on cross-border incidents Contribute to the growth and development of the Australian cyber practice What We're Looking For 3-4 years' PQE with demonstrated experience in cyber incident response and/or data privacy compliance Strong understanding of Australian data protection laws and regulatory frameworks Excellent communication skills with ability to provide clear, practical advice under time pressure General commercial experience (desirable but not essential) Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively High level of professionalism and commercial awareness Strong organisational skills and ability to manage urgent matters Ready to advance your cyber law career at a leading international firm?
