Salary & Benefits: Salary of $127,769.00 per annum plus super Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum District Allowance of $3,569 (Single) or $7,138 (Double) per annum Annual Airfare of $1,800 (after 12 months of service) per annum Electricity Allowance of $1,400 per annum Relocation reimbursement up to $5,000 (upon providing receipts) Permanent full-time position Position Overview: You will play a crucial role in delivering early childhood support services to Aboriginal children up to the age of nine who are experiencing developmental delays and/or disabilities. This position requires a culturally sensitive, family-centred approach to speech pathology services that cater to the unique needs of Aboriginal families in the Kimberley Region. You will work cohesively with the Kimberley Supports multidisciplinary team and community organisations to provide high-quality interventions, support, and advocacy for families. Key Responsibilities: Conduct evidence-based assessments and interventions for Aboriginal children with speech and language difficulties. Establish effective speech pathology services in alignment with the Remote Early Childhood Supports (RECS) Program. Advocate for and coordinate with community-based services to enhance service delivery and outcomes for families. Develop strategies to improve accessibility to childhood development services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations. Support Family Support Workers in the implementation of the RECS Program through training and collaboration. Document assessments and maintain accurate clinical records to facilitate communication with stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will: Have a Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership. Minimum of two years clinical experience with a focus on children's communication needs. Experience in developing and implementing play-based, family-centred intervention plans. Understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and best-practice early intervention guidelines. Willingness to obtain necessary clearances and travel across the Kimberley region.
