We are seeking a dedicated and committed person to lead family support and engagement from Pre-Prep to Prep and ongoing support from Prep to Year 2 in our diverse and complex communities. In this role, you will assist families in accessing engagement programs, support services, and community resources, while building strong connections with external stakeholders. You'll support positive attendance, behaviour, and learning, while connecting families with services to remove barriers to education. In our community, identifying and supporting families to access Early Intervention Services will be a key component of the work. Your Role As the Family Support Coordinators you will assist the school to support children and families successfully transition into school from early childhood services. You will facilitate access to learning or engagement supports to help establish positive patterns of school attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning. You will link families to external government and non-government supports and services to reduce barriers to learning for students. This is a temporary fulltime position for a period until 11th December 2026, unless otherwise determined. Experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly regarded. Knowledge of the regions demographic and local service providers and agency supports would be highly regarded. Responsibilities Include Implement structured and long-term collaboration with a diverse range of external partners to drive positive outcomes for families and children, and to facilitate improvement in student attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning. Work with classroom teachers, teacher aides and specialist support staff to understand the child's needs and connect families with services, such as health, therapeutic and developmental interventions to support engagement with learning. Build and sustain positive relationships and effective partnerships with students, parents, school staff, government agencies and community services and provide expert input into decision making processes to ensure optimum outcomes for children and their families. Bring expertise into school communities about vulnerable children and families and their needs to facilitate engagement in learning and improved learning outcomes.
