Key Responsibilities: Deliver expert electrical engineering advice and technical supervision across maintenance, construction, and upgrade projects. Your place of work is the Depot, plus any required site and project visits (company vehicle provided). Lead and mentor teams, managing performance, development, and apprentice supervision. Ensure full compliance with electrical safety legislation, Australian Standards, and the company Electrical Safety Management System. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and quality inspections of field staff and contractors to uphold WHS and electrical compliance. Maintain and implement safety management systems, ensuring a healthy and inclusive work environment. Provide accurate cost estimates for minor repairs, upgrades, and electrical additions. Stay current with legislative and standards updates, ensuring information is clearly communicated across teams. Hold and maintain required certifications: CPR, LVR, White Card, current "C" class licence, and working knowledge of AS/NZ3000 and related standards. Benefits: $68.90/hr Superannuation (plus penalties) Monday to Friday role, typically working 40 hours a week Any remote or regional travel is covered by the employer Overtime is paid in line with the Government EBA penalty rates Company vehicles are provided for any field-based work and travel Support meaningful infrastructure upgrades in Queensland schools and Government Housing Stable, full-time government role in a supportive team environment Contribute to service delivery that benefits local communities Your Experience and Qualifications: Ideally possess 5 years of recent post-trade experience as an Electrician Completed Qualified Technical Person (QTP) competencies, or willing to obtain/complete Demonstrate previous Supervisory or Team leader capabilities Demonstrate experience in domestic and commercial electrical installations to a high level of compliance and workmanship Current QLD Electrical Work Licence “C” Class driver's licence (minimum) Construction White Card LVR & CPR Blue Card – working with children is an advantage Must be able to pass a criminal history check Company: A government organisation delivering building maintenance, construction, and project management services across Queensland.
