Together, we deliver places that make a genuine difference to the people of Victoria Job Description Your New Role As Senior Community Engagement Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how Development Victoria connects with communities across major infrastructure, housing, and precinct projects. You will design and deliver engagement programs, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and support strategic communications to enhance reputation and reduce project risks. Core Accountabilities: Develop and implement community engagement programs to support project delivery. Organise and oversee community engagement events, both in-person and digital. Provide expert advice on engagement programs, resourcing, and risk mitigation. Manage stakeholder relationship systems, enquiries, and reporting processes. Create and deliver communication collateral, key messages, and branded materials. Design and analyse surveys, preparing consultation summaries and reports. Collaborate with senior advisors to implement strategic communications plans. Build strong internal relationships to support proactive communications and issues management. Please note – this is a 6-month contract role Desired Skills and Experience About You: You are an experienced community engagement professional with a passion for building trust and fostering meaningful connections. You bring strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and resilience to complex projects. Degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent experience. 5 years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement, ideally in property, infrastructure or construction. An understanding of the IAP2 public participation spectrum Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end engagement programs and events. Skilled in survey design, analysis, and preparing consultation summaries. Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages. Confident in managing stakeholder relationships and navigating government priorities. Adept at influencing, negotiating, and building consensus across diverse stakeholders. Resilient, proactive, and accountable, with a commitment to integrity and public interest. Empathetic and culturally aware, able to engage effectively with diverse communities.
