Our client, a specialist data services company, is seeking a highly skilled Backend QA Engineer to join their innovative team. This initial 12 month contract role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your backend automation testing expertise and solid Java coding skills within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Key responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute robust automation tests to ensure product quality Analyze test results meticulously and track software defects for timely resolutions Maintain and enhance automation testing frameworks, with a focus on daily regression test monitoring Collaborate closely with QA analysts, developers, and product owners to establish effective test strategies and comprehensive plans What we're looking for: Strong foundation in testing principles and backend testing methodologies Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in Java test automation within complex software development lifecycles Experience as a Software Engineer In Test Proficiency in performance testing tools such as K6 Experience working with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes Familiarity with Agile development workflows, using JIRA and Confluence effectively Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and Git Comfortable working in Linux/CentOS environments Experience with databases such as MySQL and Aerospike Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills Additional Valuable Skills Exposure to Kafka, Prometheus, and Grafana to monitor and analyze system performance This is a fantastic opportunity for a backend QA professional with experience as a Software Engineer In Test who is keen to start the New Year in a new role.
