As Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Nurses through applied learning and academic leadership. In this influential position, you will lead curriculum development, scholarly activity, and teaching excellence, ensuring our programme meets the highest standards of nursing education and regulatory compliance. You'll combine academic rigour with industry engagement to deliver transformative learning experiences that prepare graduates for real-world healthcare environments. This position is based at our Gold Coast Region (Southport Campus) and is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity to 26-June-2026, with potential for extension. About the Position – Key Responsibilities: Lead the academic teaching effort for the Bachelor of Nursing (HED007), including programming courses and contributing to delivery timetables. Undertake scholarly and professional activities related to enhancing nursing education and practice. Ensure compliance with TAFE Queensland and regulatory frameworks for documenting and reporting scholarly and academic activity. Develop, coordinate and maintain course materials, ensuring alignment with contemporary nursing standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ANMAC, TEQSA). Foster formal and informal interactions with students, staff, industry, and community organisations to enhance collaboration and learning outcomes. Supervise and coordinate academic staff as required, ensuring formal interactions and/or those which are commercial in nature are sanctioned by the relevant head of the organisational unit, and comply with institutional governance and approval processes. . Perform assigned teaching and learning duties with students on and off campus to a high standard of planning, preparation, presentation and assessment, as necessary to achieve unit and course learning outcomes. Critically evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching programs and program operations and communicate findings to the relevant Dean/Head as appropriate. Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions, to support applied learning. Undertake broad administrative responsibilities and actively participate in organisational unit and course meetings, contributing to planning and committee work. Support student recruitment initiatives and participate in activities that enhance and promote the Bachelor of Nursing programme. About You – Key Capabilities: Demonstrated strategic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of nursing courses and programmes, with proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing academic teams in alignment with TEQSA and ANMAC standards. Proven capacity to ensure excellence in course delivery within an applied learning environment, fully compliant with TEQSA and ANMAC requirements, and underpinned by a demonstrated commitment to exceptional student and stakeholder experience, including accurate documentation and reporting of scholarly activity. Demonstrated ability to innovate in learning and teaching practices, fostering applied learning approaches that enable students to translate theory into industry-relevant practice while maintaining TEQSA and ANMAC quality benchmarks. Proven record of achievement as a recognised leader in the nursing profession, with a reputation for advanced expertise, scholarly contribution, research engagement, and professional credibility. Demonstrated superior communication skills, including written and oral presentation, negotiation, influencing, and active listening, tailored to diverse academic and professional contexts. Proven ability to cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, underpinned by high-level interpersonal and leadership skills. Mandatory Requirements: Possession of a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline being delivered; and/or Recognised equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise, and, Knowledge of contemporary developments in a discipline or field, which is informed by continuing scholarship or research or advances in practice; and * Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to a discipline, the role, and modes of delivery and the needs of particular student cohorts. Highly desirable, but not mandatory: Current AHPRA registration as a registered health practitioner. Salary: $128,951-$134,104 per annum, plus 12.75% employer superannuation contributions & optional salary packaging benefits.
