About the role We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Sydney. In this high-impact role, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders to deliver robust financial and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and meaningful insights. With ongoing transformation within the group, you’ll strengthen financial controls, optimise processes, and drive system and automation improvements. We’re looking for someone with strong systems expertise someone who enjoys streamlining processes, supporting system transitions, and building a more efficient, data-driven finance function. Key responsibilities Management Reporting Assist in the preparation of monthly management results, board packs and ad-hoc reports. Deliver efficient and insightful cost centre reporting, variance analysis and commentary. Provide performance management analysis, identifying risks and opportunities across key business drivers Financial Reporting Support the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with GAAP/IFRS. Maintain robust financial controls that safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies. Audit & Compliance Work closely with internal and external auditors to support a smooth and efficient audit process. Ensure compliance with relevant reporting and tax requirements (preferred). Process & Systems Identify and implement process improvements to streamline and automate finance processes. Manage ledger maintenance including user management, configuration changes, data migration and systems interfaces. Ensure system controls are aligned with Group IT and Risk frameworks. Maintain and update procedures, documentation and Group Finance policies, including Delegation of Authority. Support offshoring initiatives as required. Ad hoc and Project Work Conduct ad-hoc analysis and assist with projects and strategic initiatives as required by senior management. About you We’re looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical capability and the confidence to partner across the business. You will ideally bring: Previous experience in financial services or similar industry. CA or CPA qualification (preferred) Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related field. Extensive experience in financial and management reporting. Strong understanding of accounting processes, controls and compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Advanced Excel skills and strong systems experience - exposure to D365, Adaptive or Workday is advantageous. Experience in process improvement, automation or system transformations.
