This is a Communications Officer role with Data3 based in Townsville City, QLD, AU Data3 Role Seniority - mid level More about the Communications Officer role at Data3 Communication Officer Location: Townsville, QLD Contract Duration: Dec 2025 – Aug 2026 Classification: AO3 – Administration / Communications About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Communication Officer to provide essential support across a range of communications and stakeholder engagement activities. This role plays a key part in supporting planning, pre-construction, and construction project phases, and helps ensure smooth delivery of communication commitments within major infrastructure programs. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality communication outputs, effective stakeholder interactions, and efficient coordination of operational communication tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and confident producing clear, engaging written content. Key Responsibilities Develop and produce well-written communication materials including correspondence, flyers and project updates, social media content and website and intranet page updates. Support stakeholder engagement activities on low-risk projects, including responses to general enquiries and assisting with stakeholder meetings. Prepare and update project webpages, including analytics reporting. Assist in the development and maintenance of The Hive webpages. Coordinate the distribution of project flyers and notifications. Draft communication responses for lower-level stakeholder issues. Manage and maintain the correspondence tracker. Source and verify stakeholder contact information, lot numbers and other data, and enter into spreadsheets or consultation management systems. Provide general communication and engagement support to project teams as required. Skills & Experience Essential: Strong written communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and audience-appropriate materials. Experience in communication, stakeholder engagement, or a similar administrative support role. Ability to engage professionally with stakeholders regarding low-risk matters. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Competence using digital tools, content management systems, and office software (e.g., spreadsheets, web CMS). Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support multiple concurrent projects. Desirable: Experience working within government, infrastructure, or community engagement environments.
