You will work independently during some shifts and support the Chef as required, ensuring meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements. Shift times: Approximately 10:00am – 4:00pm , part-time hours. Key Responsibilities Assist with food preparation and meal service Wash, peel, and chop fruit and vegetables Prepare meals and snacks in line with centre nutrition guidelines Set up food and beverage trays for children Clean kitchen, food preparation areas, and utensils Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen in accordance with policies Support allergy management and dietary requirements Ensure health and safety standards are upheld at all times About You Previous kitchen experience (essential) Experience in childcare or education settings (highly regarded) Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices Ability to cater for allergies and special dietary requirements Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, organised kitchen Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Current Working with Children Check First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain) Commercial Cookery qualifications (Certificate III or higher) preferred but not essential Our Commitment Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all children.
