The Classification Manager is accountable to the Director Classifications for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of classification systems that underpin hospital and aged care pricing frameworks. This role ensures classifications are contemporary, evidence-based, and aligned with IHACPA's strategic objectives to support equitable and efficient funding across the health and aged care sectors. The key duties of the position include This role provides strategic leadership as part of the Classifications team, offering expert advice on policy, methodology, and implementation to ensure evidence-based, fit-for-purpose classification systems. Lead the design, evaluation, and governance of hospital and aged care classification structures, supporting data interpretation, and the provision of high-level recommendations. Lead extensive consultation with clinicians, consumers, industry representatives, and government agencies to inform classification design and updates, while managing sensitive discussions on changes and their financial and health system impacts. Manage and mentor a small team while overseeing projects, stakeholder engagement, and technical reporting to the Pricing Authority and advisory committees.
