About the role Provide nursing/midwifery care within a health service setting while developing from novice to proficient practice. Deliver safe, accountable care, maintain professional standards, and work collaboratively with senior clinicians and multidisciplinary teams. The Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C) role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios Key duties of the role Assess patient/client needs and plan person-centred care Deliver safe nursing/midwifery care on a shift-by-shift basis Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external services Support patient safety through quality and risk improvement Guide students and less experienced staff in clinical practice Additional key duties - RN/M2C Oversee care delivery within a team or unit and monitor outcomes Support the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager with service delivery and change Contribute to protocols, audits, projects, and incident reviews Skills and Experience Registered Nurse/Midwife with current AHPRA practicing certificate Enrolled in or holds qualification in mental health practice Apply clinical knowledge to deliver safe, person-centred care Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and prioritise workload Demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution Additional Skills - RN/M2C Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in nursing/midwifery Lead and supervise students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced staff Enquiries can be directed to Kayla Hann – Nurse Unit Manager, 7087 1047 or Kayla.Hann@sa.gov.au Want to learn more about career opportunities at WCHN?
