Project Director Bielby is experiencing a period of sustained growth with a strong project pipeline and the continued expansion into new regions. Building on our 40 years of delivery success across roads, rail, renewables, and more, we are looking for a talented Project Director to join our high performing team. You are empowered to take full ownership of a project from its inception during the tender and bid phase, through to successful site-based delivery of major infrastructure projects throughout Southeast and regional Queensland. You will be the primary custodian of the project’s commercial, technical, and relationship success, ensuring that the promises made during the bid are delivered with excellence on the ground. What You'll Do Lead the strategic development of tenders, taking ownership of the proposed methodology, staging, and technical solutions. Collaborate with the Pre-Contracts team to ensure the estimate and program are robust, competitive, and reflect the unique logistical challenges of delivery. Command project financial performance through cost control and expert contract administration, ensuring accurate forecasting and the strategic management of variations and claims. Act as the lead technical representative in client interviews and tender presentations, building early confidence with stakeholders and government bodies. Transition seamlessly from the bid phase to site delivery, serving as the ultimate authority on-site for project delivery. Champion a culture of leadership excellence, taking ultimate responsibility for site-wide WHS compliance, risk mitigation, and the mentorship of a high-performing project team. Navigate the specific complexities of regional work, including resource mobilisation, local supply chain management, and remote logistics. Ensure the project team implements company procedures to consistently produce high-quality outcomes that meet project and client specifications. What You'll Bring 15 years in civil construction, including leading large-scale infrastructure projects. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related, with postgraduate qualifications in project management or business viewed favourably Ability to forge trusted, long-term relationships with stakeholders through responsiveness, collaboration, integrity, and proactive communication.
