Tell me about this role: We are currently looking for an NV1 security cleared System Safety Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will see you take on a range of tasks including but not limited to developing safety engineering documentation such as System Safety Plans, System Safety Case Reports as well as providing SME input into Test & Evaluation programs, and mandated system reviews. What will I be doing day to day? The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the following indicative system safety artefacts in support of Army Aviation: System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) Safety Case reports System Safety Artefacts technical risk assessments and support system safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance to relevant standards and requirements safety plans for trial or T&E events mentor and develop Army Aviation Commonwealth and Contractor personnel in system safety to increase system safety across the team. What sort of skills do I need? Experience within a Defence Aerospace programs Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent Recognised training in Aviation System Safety (Defence Aviation Safety Authority equivalent) Demonstrable working knowledge of Aviation System Safety and Defence/CASG Policies greater than 5 years Experience in the development and management of technical systems and engineering artefacts Strong communication skills Process orientated with good attention to detail Hold a minimum NV1 security clearance (must be an Australian citizen) What’s in it for me?
