Our Strategy and Growth team is seeking a Senior Specialist - Pursuits and Bids , based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth , reporting into the Major Bids Lead. This role is a key contributor to SLR’s growth agenda, leading strategically important pursuits and shaping how the business positions, differentiates, and wins work in priority markets. Operating at the intersection of strategy, business development, and technical delivery, you will drive capture and win strategies, lead multidisciplinary teams, and develop client-focused proposals that clearly demonstrate value and differentiation. Working closely with the Major Bids Lead and senior leaders, you will lead complex, high-value bids, guide teams through the full winning-work lifecycle, and embed best-practice pursuit methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and win outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring submissions are strategically aligned, compelling, and contribute to strengthening SLR’s market position. Responsibilities Lead and govern complex, high-value pursuits from opportunity qualification through submission and post-bid review Shape capture and win strategies, informed by client insight, market intelligence, and risk analysis Influence pursuit selection and resourcing decisions in collaboration with senior stakeholders Oversee the development of compelling, client-centric proposals that clearly articulate value, outcomes, and differentiation Ensure submissions meet governance requirements, tendering standards, and client expectations Apply and continuously improve structured bid methodologies to strengthen quality and win probability Lead engagement with consortium partners and subcontractors to deliver cohesive, aligned submissions Mentor and coach team members, building capability and embedding a culture of excellence in winning work. Experience 5-10 years of experience leading pursuits, bids, or business development in consulting or professional services Strong track record delivering complex, multidisciplinary bids and capture strategies Highly developed strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and client focus Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders Proven experience applying structured bid governance and methodologies Highly organised, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
