This well-respected commercial building contractor has been operating in SEQ for over 30 years and undertakes projects of which 80% is through repeat clients. With a trusted reputation amongst leading consultants they have maintained a steady workload through downturns and managed to hold onto all their staff in tough times. They are also a company that promotes from within and has career development programs employing apprentices and cadets and developing their careers. There are opportunities for foreman to move up the business into construction management roles. Projects typically range from $10M-$50M and consist of educational, industrial, hotel, and retail developments. There is currently an opening for an experienced Site Manager to start in a new project from the planning stage. The project is a $35M retail redevelopment starting in the next 2 months. With a major carpark to be constructed work will begin in civils and underground services and then move into a major structure with post-tensioned concrete decks and then into a high-end retail fitout. The Site manager will be responsible for a well-resourced team consisting of foreman, apprentice, and administrator. The successful SM will be responsible for overall planning and strategy, and coordination of all site activities, as well as interfacing with client reps, and ensuring OH&S compliance is constantly met. Because of minimal staff turnover this is a rare opportunity to join one of Brisbane’s most respected medium-tier builders and not just be a number.
