Due to urgent project requirements, we are seeking an experienced Civil Works Supervisor with a strong background in planning, scheduling and supervising civil works teams within a local government or civil engineering environment. This is an immediate start role, initially offered as a 3–6 month contract, with the potential to transition to a permanent position for the right candidate. Targeted start date - Mid January 2026 CIVILS SUPERVISOR Reporting to the Civil Operations Lead, you will lead and oversee teams delivering civil works across asphalt, concrete and bridge maintenance, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards. You will play a key role in work program planning and scheduling, supervising daily operations, coordinating resources and contractors, and maintaining service delivery levels for the community. Key Responsibilities: Assist with planning, scheduling and delivery of assigned civil works programs Lead and supervise operational teams and contractor partners Monitor program delivery and take proactive corrective action where required Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure safety, quality and compliance Provide technical guidance to crews on site Coordinate resources, plant, materials and rostering to maintain service levels Liaise with internal and external stakeholders Manage issues and customer requests, ensuring complaints are recorded and followed up appropriately Champion a strong safety-first culture aligned with WHS requirements About You: We’re looking for a standout supervisor who is confident leading crews and managing work programs in a civil environment. You will bring: Strong experience in civil works supervision, ideally across asphalt, concrete, road or bridge works Demonstrated capability in planning, scheduling and monitoring civil work programs Proven leadership or team management ability Appreciation of safety, risk management and compliance Experience supervising plant and equipment including excavators, loaders, rollers, skid steers, watercarts and drainage machinery Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions focused approach.
