About The School Our school was established in 1893 and provides education from Prep to Year 6 with an enrolment of more than 1000 students. The school is situated on the rural/urban fringe of Brisbane. Your Responsibilities As the Student Support Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Supporting students to regulate emotions and engage in a school day Supporting teachers to transition students back into the classroom after an incident Developing and implementing plans for students on how to regulate their emotions Guiding and implementing programmes to encourage positive behaviour and supportive environments Liaising with teachers to recognise any social and emotional issues Liaising with families regarding targeted support for their child Supporting families to implement similar support strategies at home so the child has consistency between home and school Supporting and working alongside teachers and teacher aides to develop their skills in student engagement and behaviour management and the provision of professional development to staff in this area Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.
