We are seeking a Social Worker to work alongside our inclusion team and Guidance Services, providing strong support and advocacy for families of students enrolled at GSS. This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. About The Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Inclusion and Support team at Gainsborough State School. This school-based role involves providing expert social work services to support the wellbeing and mental health of students and their families, working closely with the school community to foster a positive and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Include Providing individual and group counselling to students, parents, and families to address personal and relationship concerns. Conducting professional social welfare assessments, interventions, and follow-up support as required. Facilitating referrals and coordinating services with community agencies to support students and families. Developing and implementing strategies to engage parents, carers, and the community in school activities and programs. Supporting the school community in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team. This role would suit a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting student wellbeing and fostering strong school-community relationships. About You The following traits would be beneficial: Experience in providing counselling and support to children, families, and communities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to develop and implement strategies to support student wellbeing and mental health. Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team in an educational or community setting. Knowledge of referral processes and collaboration with external support agencies.
