The Executive Director requires strong leadership, strategy and engagement capabilities and will assist the department to achieve its vision through aperformance driven and customer focused culture that delivers results, while displaying the core public sector values of: customers first; ideas into action; unleash potential; be courageous; and empower people. You will have the ability to provide strategic and cultural leadership and management of youth detention services and operations, in order to achieve the goals and outcomes of youth justice in an effective and efficient manner and be required to: - lead and implement cultural capability and strategic direction to youth detention staff and management and inspire a sense of purpose to youth detention operations in Queensland.- lead and deliver contemporary youth detention practice that focusses on the needs and improving the life trajectory of young people and the safety of young people and staff in a detention environment. As an executive, your performance will be assessed according to four key accountability perspectives: stakeholder and outcome, internal business, financial, and learning and growth. The position requires a person who will take personal responsibility for serving the government of the day and meeting the needs of the people and communities of Queensland. As an executive, you will work towards a system of world class service delivery and public sector management. You will have a record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation, preferably including youth detention. You will have extensive experience across the public, private and/or not-for-profit sectors and you will have a strong background in strategy, engagement and building cultural capability across an organisation. You will have a proven track record as an agent of delivering change in challenging environments, in fostering a confident, safe and capable workforce and in facilitating partnerships and alliances.
