As a Lifetime Warranty Engineer, you will play a critical role within our quality team, leading the coordination of lifetime warranty spend improvement initiatives across our International Markets Group. Reporting directly to the Lifetime Warranty Manager, this position is based at our WARPEC site, adjacent to our IMG Product Development Centre in Broadmeadows, Melbourne. This role operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring four days on-site. Lead and coordinate key warranty spend reduction initiatives to significantly lower Cost Per Repair (CPR) within IMG. Proactively monitor warranty trends, leveraging Ford Spend Reduction Tools (e.g., child part repairs, enhanced diagnostics, WSM modifications), to identify and address quality issues and cost-saving opportunities. Develop robust business cases for proposed projects, ensuring clear justification and expected outcomes. Oversee project tracking and reporting within global systems to ensure transparency and progress. Validate and report on actual warranty spend reduction savings, demonstrating tangible impact. Project manage critical implementation efforts, driving key initiatives from conception to completion. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CPR action reporting, utilizing global reporting platforms. Manage and report project status in required forums, ensuring transparent communication. Oversee and deliver the warranty spend roadmap and associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Act as the IMG Warranty representative in relevant project meetings. Undertake special assignments and projects as required to support quality and warranty objectives. Tertiary qualification required (Engineering preferred). Minimum of 5 years' experience leading teams in a technical environment required. Automotive experience preferred. Proven experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Material Handling within a high-quality manufacturing-design environment. Proven Technical, Analytical, and Project Management skills required. Ability to manage and deliver specific projects independently. Excellent Leadership, Results-driven attitude, and Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to influence and build relationships. Familiarity with Quality-AI, GSAR, OWS-SERVIS2, Microcat, Panda, PTS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Datacubes. Expertise in 8D methodology, Statistics (e.g., SPC), and Ford QOS - highly desirable. Ability to travel as required.
