About the Role We are seeking a Sexual Assault Counsellor to join our Counselling & Case Management team on a permanent part-time basis, based in Lismore. In this specialist role, you will provide free, trauma-informed counselling to: Children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced trauma, including sexual abuse Children who have displayed concerning or harmful sexual behaviours Adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse You will deliver individual counselling and facilitate therapeutic group work, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, values-driven team. Key Responsibilities Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy in individual and group settings Participate in intake, assessment, triage and waitlist management processes Conduct comprehensive client assessments and regularly review client outcomes Facilitate therapeutic group programs for children and young people Maintain accurate, confidential and timely case notes and client records Meet mandatory reporting obligations and manage clinical risk appropriately Prepare court reports and respond to subpoenas as required (with CEO approval) Establish and maintain referral pathways and participate in interdisciplinary networks Contribute to team meetings, case conferences and organisational supervision Provide peer support, in-service training and support clinical supervision programs as requested About You You are a skilled, compassionate practitioner who brings sound professional judgement and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice. Essential requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology Demonstrated experience providing counselling and therapeutic group work Strong skills in trauma assessment and intervention Knowledge of child protection frameworks and therapeutic responses to sexual abuse Experience working in culturally sensitive and inclusive ways Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment Competency using Microsoft Office and client database systems Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Psychology Additional Requirements NSW Working with Children Check National Police Check Current NSW Driver Licence Why Work With Us?
