We deliver complex, engineered installation projects across Australia and are known for quality workmanship, safety, and reliable delivery. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Fitter to join our Melbourne-based project team. In this role, you will carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment, and installation works to ensure racking systems are installed accurately, safely, and to specification. Key duties Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications and installation documentation Set out, assemble, fit and align mechanical components and steel structures for racking systems Measure, mark, and check components using precision measuring equipment to ensure correct fit and tolerances Use hand and power tools and mechanical equipment to assemble, fasten, adjust and secure components Conduct on-site installation activities including levelling, alignment checks, and final fitment verification Identify faults, rectify installation issues, and complete adjustments to achieve compliance with technical requirements Perform quality checks, complete basic commissioning/functional checks, and report defects or non-conformances Maintain tools and equipment and keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements Work safely at heights and follow all site safety procedures, SWMS, and permit requirements Qualifications and experience Minimum 1 year experience in a fitter/mechanical fitting role (site-based installation experience preferred) Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting (or equivalent demonstrated work experience) Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications and work to accurate measurements High attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a reliable work ethic Licences and tickets Current driver’s licence White Card High Risk Work (HRW) licences (where applicable) Working at Heights, scissor lift and forklift tickets are highly desirable Physical requirements Capacity to perform manual handling and physically demanding work in an active site environment If you are a skilled Fitter looking to join a growing business delivering engineered installation projects, we encourage you to apply with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining relevant experience.
