Our client 'Boardwalk Tavern' is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will bring strong culinary skills, leadership capability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen operations. In this role, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality dishes, supporting daily kitchen operations, and contributing to a positive team culture. You will work closely with senior chefs and management to ensure consistency, efficiency and an excellent dining experience for our guests. Key Responsibilities • Responsible for preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items within the kitchen • Responsible for the overall cleanliness and presentation of the kitchen • Requisition, storage, control and ordering of stock • Care and maintenance of equipment • Supervision, training and development of other kitchen employees • Menu planning and pricing • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety practices • Assisting in the development of marketing strategies • Liaising with other departments • Practising proper workplace health and safety procedures Key Selection Criteria Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification Experience in managing the operations of a commercial kitchen, including: Supervision, rostering and training of kitchen staff Menu planning and pricing Maintaining stock control Developing and implementing marketing strategies High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with customers and supervise and train staff Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve customer complaints professionally and effectively Why Join Us?
